|9-2007 Luce County Michigan Cougar Sighting.
Reported Mon 10/6/2008 12:42 PM to www.savethecougar.org
Date of Observation: 9-30-07
Location Description: On Highway 28 east of Newberry Michigan
My husband and I were vacationing. We are from Fenton MI. We were staying in St Ignace and decided to drive west in the early evening. We had no specific plans. We ended up north of Newberry and I received a voicemail but couldn't get it because we were roaming. We headed toward Newberry and at dusk on Highway 28 we saw what looked like a huge sandy colored cat standing over something on the side of the road. It had a large round head. It could have weighed 150lbs easily. We were driving on a donut and were really glad we didn't need to change a tire at that time. The phone call turned out to be my 12 yr old daughter at home who had broken her arm and I have saved that call on my phone so I know the exact time all of this happened.
