Date of Observation: 2/7/12
Time: 11:00 am
My mother and I were on our way back to my house, about eight miles east of Rothbury, when we noticed the Cat coming out of the swamp and crossing the road seventy-five yards in front of us. The cat seemed to be dark in color, but not black. What got my attention was the long tail, firm but not bushy, and the "J" hooking apearence at the end of it. We slowed to look, but we saw nothing but the tracks were it had went down the embankment. I was able to track the cat for a little way, but the only good track I saw was were it dropped of the road into the deep snow. The track was about three inches across, with no claw marks visable. I'll keep my eyes open!
