Cougar Sighting at Paint Creek Trail, Lake Orion, Oakland Co., Michigan
"My husband and I went out for a bike ride about 6:30pm. On our way back home, we stopped to rest near an open area and I saw what appeared to be a big, tan-colored dog sitting up in the grass near a side road. The head didn't look right to be a dog, but it was too far away to tell what kind of dog it was.
I even asked a couple walking by if they could tell what it was. We all concluded it was some kind of dog (because of it's size).
After a few minutes, we glanced back at the "dog," as it walked through the clearing and back into the woods, it had a long body, very large muscular hind legs and about a four foot long tail that looked just like our housecat. My husband said, "That looks like a lioness." I turned to him and said, "Did I just see what I think I saw?" He said, "I saw it too."
